Podere Calza - Charming Cottage of Medieval Origin with Spectacular Views over Enchanted Valley

Podere Calza is a restored cottage whose foundations date back to medieval times. Sitting on the side of a hill, surrounded by olive trees and shaded by a secular oak tree, Podere Calza is the perfect base for a quiet and romantic holiday in a part of Tuscany which is still very pure and unspoilt. Completely restored by its owner, a lady who lived there permanently for 10 years. The house has a real welcoming feel. It develops around a very bright living area with a large fireplace and high windows offering stunning views over the country. A glass door takes you out to the terraced garden shaded by a lovely oak tree under which is a table for alfresco dining. Off the living room is a reading room equipped with a good stereo, TV and a double sofa bed. The reading room hosts a split floor with another double sofa bed.

The back portion hosts a double bedroom and a bathroom with bathtub. The house is easily reached via a 500mt gravel road.

Heating and air conditioning:

The house has central heating which is charged on a meter according to consumption. It is not equipped with air-conditioning as the house has very thick stone walls which keep it very cool in the hottest summer months.

Accesibility:

The house develops over many different levels and is not suitable for guests with mobility problems.

Outside:

The lovely, panoramic and private garden offers many relaxing spots, a hammock, sunbeds, tables and chairs and a lovely olive grove.

Radicondoli is a wonderful medieval hamlet which offers a great base for a relaxing holiday in the countryside. There is the possibility of having guided walks in the valley, horse riding, cooking classes. Cultural interests can be fed by taking day trips to nearby art cities like Siena, Florence, Pisa, S. Gimignano, Volterra, all less than an hour motoring away.
