THANK YOU FOR YOUR PART IN MAKING THIS MEMORABLE TRIP HAPPEN. - PHIL's review
@ San Giovanni
Good day Erica.
I wanted to let you know that my three daughters, one grandson and I had a wonderful time at the Faneschi's residence outside of Siena. The property was everything it was represented to be, and their hospitality was top notch.
Thank you for your part in making this memorable trip happen.
You take care and thank you once again, Phil.
Our stay with Mauro and Marcella was my favorite in our three week trip to Italy. We felt so at home in the lovely home environment and with really nice people close by. We will go back! Best to rent a car before you go to Pianella. We drove from Florence and it was an adventure for sure, but nice to have a car once in the Siena area. Mauro will loan you maps and give good advice on where to go. Have fun!
We spent a wonderful week in the main house while the owners occupied one of the smaller apartments. The property more than matched the description & photos & the owners were so friendly & helpful that they made our stay so much more interesting. We loved the elegance of the home as well as the tranquillity & beauty of the surroundings.
Everything is perfect for this location:
At 20 minutes to Siena and 60 minutes to Firenze, you can reach any tuscany famous cities very easily (personnal car is needed).
You can profit of a very quiet place as you are inside the campaign.
The house is very clean and well maintained.
Nice bedrooms, nice bathrooms, nice kitchen...
The owner and his wife are very kind and are doing their best for your comfort.
They can either speak Italian, French or English!
The swimming pool and the garden are beautiful and adapted for a quiet moment.
I will go back there and I strongly recommand you this location.
Paggione was a jewel in the heart of my family's vacation to Italy in July/August. Being a wine lover, it is magnificently located near Siena and we were able to easily visit Chianti vineyards including Barone Ricasoli. The house is large, very comfortable, just like home, and full of charm. The view from our balcony was stunning, and the swimming pool is gorgeous. We spent hours after visiting local areas lazing about in the lovely water with a view to the next valley and castello. Olives, olive oil, sangiovese, pane and pizza were all locally available, as was salami and vegetables/eggs/herbs. Owners are beautiful and interesting people who radiate love of the house, property and area. It is in their blood. I can't recommend this villa highly enough, it met the dreams and over delivered on our hopes for our first Tuscan holiday.
We enjoyed our vacation at this place very much. The house is very pretty and lovely. It has his own character and charm. The house has enough place for 8 or more people. We enjoyed to have the pool by ourselve and not to share it with other people.
The offered grill should be changed because it was very often used and not in the best condition.
One day we had a problem with incoming water while a heavy rainshower.
The communication with the caretaker wasn't so easy because her english was not the best. It's better to speak a little Italian.
The restaurant "La Pergola" is very good. The italian food tastes very delicious. I have eaten the best rabbit I have ever eaten.
Never the less the little problems we had I would recommend it to my best friend.
Have a nice stay!

SUCH GOOD MEMORIES (PIAGGIONE) - CLEMENTINE's review
@ La Mansarda
The place is so beautiful and peaceful. The landscape is just amazing, and the owners very welcoming. You can also taste their own production like vegetables or olive oil. This is a little paradise for everyone. The best places of Tuscania are near.
This last summer we stayed at Piaggione. I have always wanted to have a authentic Tuscan holiday for as long as I can remember. We live in Switzerland and felt like this was the year. We found Piaggione and fell in love with Tuscany. It was a dream come true vacation. The location is breath taking, the hosts were beyond kind and gracious, the house is rustic, cosy and comfortable and the pool and hot tube were heavenly. Our special dinner made by Alberto and Camilla was the highlight of our week and not to mention Pizza night! Wow. Camilla was an excellent guide in Siena, a beautiful city by the way! And Alberto was one of the most kind hearted hosts I have ever meet who went out of his way for us many times. I highly recommend staying at Piaggione. You will not forget it!
La Macina, Aliminusa, Sicily - 2-15 Sept, 2012
Terrific value for a whole house (+ garden, orchard, lovely shady terrace with sun loungers, [sort of]pool, wood-fired pizza oven and table tennis table) plus lovely support from Pina and Salvatore. Kitchen had everything one could possibly need; bathroom fine (albeit only one and no fun having to go downstairs to it in the night); and lounge comfortable. Only downside really was geography - couldn't contemplate walking up or down to village in daytime (too steep; too hot) or at night (too dark and pot-holey); and the village does only have one place to eat - a pizzeria (closed Mondays); and it's a twisty-windy drive to the nearest town (Cerda) that does have one v nice restaurant (Nasca 1) - let alone to anywhere else - coast (Termini, Cefalu, Palermo - we recommend Trattoria Ai Cascinari, Via D'Ossuna 43/45), down south to Agrigento (excellent late lunch in nearby San Leone after visiting the temples), cross country to Caccamo (which has a v nice 'slow-food movement'-approved trattoria La Castellana). And just too far to Piazza Armerina. Can't wait to return to Sicily to explore another part of the island.
We have spent lovely holidays at Villa Faneschi near Siena in Tuscany.
The appartments corresponded perfectly with the description.
Whole the property is very clean, very confortable, well equiped, and very quiet.
Mauro and Marcella Faneshi welcomed us very well, are very friendly and gave us good advises for visiting best places in Tuscany...and wine.
We'll remember a long time our holidays at their house. It was perfect.
The kids played at the swimming pool and into the garden.
Thanks a lot.
We'll recommend definitly this adress.
If you love beautiful countryside, immaculate and comfortable accommodations, and an excellent location as a base for exploring the region (or staying "put" as a retreat), then consider staying at Paugnano. If you like home cooking and family-style dining with the owners and other guests, then be sure to eat at least a few meals on site - Giovanna's cooking was some of the best food we've ever had.
Our stay at Paugnano was the highlight of our time in Italy. We look forward to returning again.
great house! we really enjoyed staying at podere calza - everything was perfect. We hope to get back one day!
GREATEST VACATION - NATHALIE's review
We just can’t stop talking about this place to all our friends. The location was perfect for day trips, and at the end of each day, we would return to this extraordinary little oasis and relax around the pool while the kids enjoyed themselves. The pictures shown on the website do not make it justice. The view is spectacular!
The accommodations were clean and well kept. It had everything that we needed and made us feel at home.
Pietro and his wife were the perfect hosts. They were always available when you needed them but they also understood the importance of privacy and wanting to enjoy our vacation with our friends. I can still see Pietro’s great smile each time we would see him.
It was a perfect vacation and we would recommend it to anyone.
This summer we spent 10 days on this wonderful farm & truly loved it. It was better than we imagined, our son loved milking the sheep & watching Pietro work. Pietro & his family are so warm & friendly. We felt like family! The accommodation was clean & adequate. The view from the barn we stayed in was breathtaking. We look forward to returning to this slice of heaven .
Ciao the Barton family
We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time at this apartment. We are four female travelers from the US (38, 42, 70 & 70) that stayed in "La Grande" for six nights in April 2012. We used this as our home base for trips to Siena, Florence, and many hill towns in Tuscany. It took us almost 22 hours to travel from various parts of the US and, upon arrival, Camila and Alberto had catered dinner for us as requested. It was an incredible feast and such a great welcome to "La Grande". We knew that we were going to love it from the start. Camila and Alberto are wonderful hosts...we would stay with them again. In fact, I'm thinking my husband and I will be back in the next year or so. The apartment was simply wonderful. Relatively easy to get to but also isolated and peaceful. Rustic and full of character, but with all the modern conveniences you would expect. Spacious and comfortable, with an amazing view (the view was so great that, even though we went at a chillier time, we still spent every late afternoon sitting on the back porch drinking wine while wrapped in a blanket). We enjoyed our travels during the day, but we enjoyed coming back to our "home" just as much. We would heartily recommend this apartment to anyone traveling in the area. Thanks again Camila and Alberto! We hope to see you again soon. :)
Just wanted to provide some feedback from our stay at La Borgo Chuisa.
The Villa was perfect for us - four females traveling together. We were able to have a bedroom each and use of the three bathrooms.
The Villa upon our arrival was spotlessly clean.
Francesca provided us with directions to closest supermarket and her contact number should we need to get hold of her. We cooked a couple of meals using the stovetop and oven during our stay. We didn't have a meal or the homemade pizzas other guests wrote very positively about in the guest book. Maybe next time.
Francesca could be seen around the property most days cleaning, sweeping, gardening. Very available but unobtrusive.
Francesca rescued us on the day of our departure. We had a taxi booked which didn't arrive at the nominated time. There were many calls to the taxi company and the driver who was lost. Francesca obliged by negotiating for us on our mobile, without her help we would have been very frustrated and missed our train for Naples. Francesca and her husband Rosalino offered to drive us to the train station in Siena if the taxi didn't arrive.
In brief, highly recommend this property which is extremely clean, well maintained and the property owners so helpful and obliging. Will recommend to others and hope o return one day.
What a perfect holiday location. We stayed for a week in August when the sun is hot and the pool is terrifically and refreshingly cool.
We could not have asked for a more relaxing location, with ideal running trails from the house, historical locations within an easy drive and most of all the most helpful and attentive (yet discreet) hosting from Erica.
If you are looking for a holiday rental that ticks all the quality boxes then this one must be your choice. The photos do not do it justice, the meal we had cooked for us on the first night was sublime, certainly somewhere we will be returning to in the future.

Thnaks a lot.

I stayed at Borgo La Chiusa for 6 nights with my sister and two friends. We rented the larger of two units at the house and could not have been happier!!! The villa is gorgeous, immaculate, comfortable, and situated in a very beautiful location.
Upon arrival, we were met by owner, Francesca, who is the most gracious and lovely hostess. She showed us around the house and grounds and gave us information about the nearby towns, grocery store, taxi service, etc. She was always just a phone call way if we needed anything, but never intruded on our privacy. Francesca is learning English and I am trying to learn Italian, so between the two of us, we were able to settle the bill and communicate just fine :)
The house is well-equipped with a great kitchen, laundry room, plenty of space to relax inside and out. We loved cooking dinner and eating outdoors on the patio after a long day of touring Tuscany. We had a rental car which made it very easy to get around; all of the beautiful towns and vineyards we visited were a 30-90 minute drive. (Montalino, Montepulciano, Cortona, San Gimignano, and Greve in Chianti to name a few).
I can't even describe how joyful it was to wake up here in the morning!! The pool, perfectly manicured yard, Cypress-lined driveway, and peaceful surrounding countryside make such a gorgeous view from the villa that you are newly dumb-struck by beauty every day and just need to pinch yourself to prove it's real. The pictures on the website are nice but it's really so much more amazing in person.
If you don't have a car, you can easily get to Siena by bus (and other places from there). On the next to last day we turned in the rental car and just stayed in Siena for the day. A very beautiful old city. We took the bus back to the villa that night. It stops at the end of the street, about a 4 minute walk to the house. Francesca helped us get a taxi to the Siena train station the next morning. She is a gem!!
There was a couple staying in the smaller unit for part of our stay, but we hardly noticed them. Very nice set-up that makes guests feel like they have the whole place to themselves.
We were so sad to leave "our house" in Tuscany. I have recommended this villa to many friends and I will definitely stay here again when I return to Italy one day.
Thank you, Francesca and Erica, for making the arrangements so easy and our stay so very wonderful!!!
Linda, Sylvia, Margaret and Janie from Maine
This is an immaculate property - very comfortable and well equipped. The grounds are beautiful. The proprietress Francesca could not be nicer or more accommodating. We stayed in the 2 bedroom property for a week in May and it was perfect for my family of 4, which includes 2 college age sisters. There is an excellent grocery and ATM within 2 miles and many very good local restaurants. The location is perfect to access major roads for day trips to Chianti, the Sienese hill towns and southern Tuscany, yet very quite and bucolic. All in all, perfecto!
Stayed May 2012, travelled with family
My husband and I recently returned from spending a week in Siena at Borgo La Chiusa. We were in Il Porcilaia, the smaller of the two rentals. We found it to be all that we needed and more. We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our time in Siena. The kitchen is well equipped with a dish washer and convection oven. The living area has very comfortable furniture; the beds are firm and everything is extremely clean. Francesca and her son welcomed us and made sure that we found the grocery stores and restaurants in the area easily. I would recommend having a GPS with you to navigate the beautiful country roads as you wind through the hillsides. We would rent this villa again in a minute.
Stayed November 2011, travelled with family
While visiting Italy last month we had a week in Tuscany staying outside Siena at Borga La Chiusa. We could not have been more comfortable anywhere and we can not put into words all that we would wish to say.
As the larger of the two villas was already rented we took the smaller one which worked out great for us, two senior couples one from Canada the other from Australia.
We were thrilled to find it exactly as the pictures show it, spotlessly clean and set out with care. The little extra touches made this rental accomodation feel more like a home and we found everything that we needed. The pool is big enough to have fun and it too is very clean and well maintained.
Francesca and her son Alessandro were very warm and welcoming and gave us information we needed to get about. Francesca and her family do a wonderful job of keeping the villas in top condition. You will find that Francesca is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
We rented a car, which we would advise, and did day trips from the villa which worked out great. If we ever get the chance to visit Siena again we will not hesitate to stay here and we will recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet, beautiful, restful place minutes outside Siena itself.
Our favourite village had to be Montalcino which we came upon while looking for the Banfi Winery. What a wonderful old place Montalcino is and so high up on a hill that the views are amazing. If you get the chance to go there give yourself lots of time to explore both the fort and the village itself. We had lunch at a little restaurant Caffe La Fortessa, in their outside eating area, which sits in a small park with a great view. The food and the service was excellent and the waitress went out of her way to be friendly and helpful.
Francesca we hope to return and until then, thank you so much from 4 very grateful and satisfied visitors, Dorothy, Chris, Sheila and Len.
Stayed September 2011, travelled with friends
We stayed in La Legnaia, the larger of the 2 adjoining apartments. We were met by Francesca, who manages the 2 apartments and she showed us round and gave essential info e.g. nearest supermarket (5 minutes or so drive). The apartment is very well equipped. The 2 upstairs bedrooms are airconditioned and the 2 downstairs are cool enough without. The grounds and pool area are very well kept and cared for and Francesca or her husband were there most days for caring for these. Lovely outside seating and dining areas with parasols. Loungers around the pool. Whole area securely gated. Francesca was caring and helpful e.g. when DVD player did not work had replacement the next day. 10 minutes or so drive to parking in Siena - what a beautiful town - but well situated to access most areas in Tuscany. Lovely to come back to the pool and comfortable apartment at the end of the day.
Stayed July 2012, travelled with family
This is the most relaxing stay we have ever had anywhere.
The large apartment - La Nostra, is like a house! Huge rooms, rustic but very nicely appointed. Spotlessly clean and the BEST views of Tuscany!
Alberto and Camilla were amazing hosts, pretty much left us our privacy, but were there when we needed them....we ate their homemade pasta, fresh olives, and woodfired pizza. We ordered the most divine vegetables from their farm.( see photo).
The spa amenities were great, which we included as part of our payment. I had a lovely massage, turkish bath, sauna and spas. very clean and well serviced.
The kids played with the resident cats and dog, fed the pigs, rabbits and ducks and the rest of their time was spent playing in the gorgeous pool.
This is an idyliic getaway for couples, families, or more than one family. It's close to many great towns, about 45mins from Sienna and full of amazing places to eat, wonderful wineyards,
Recently returned from a wonderful stay at Piaggione di Serravalle in May 2012. This was my 3rd and mostly rejuvinating holiday in Italy! Pulling into the winding path surrounded grape vines mixed in with the owners sculptures is quite an introduction. We opened the door to the first floor flat and the amazement continued. There are wonderful bedrooms, dining room, and living room. However, nothing compared to the view from the terrace…nothing but rolling hills ( except the beautiful pool just below)
This lovely residence is certainly off the path and requires a car. The views and atmosphere was well worth skipping public transportation! Highly recommend staying here!!
Stayed May 2012, travelled with friends
This was an amazing place to stay. The view is breathtaking but also the quaintness and charm is lovely. This place has a hot tub and sauna along with the outside pool which was great since the weather ended up being a bit colder than expected and this was a great option.
The farm fresh eggs and wine were an added bonus. The place is clean which is top on my list of a must criteria and the whole atmosphere is so hospitable. I will definitely plan to go back again which for my part is the best recommendation!
We traveled to the villa in Sienna twice, once in 2006 with the entire family and again in 2010. The first time we went we met Camilla and her mother and they greeted us in the downstairs villa. They had such warm hearts, open arms and of course brought out classic Italian dishes and wine that night. My daughters were all teenagers at the time and even they loved staying there. I drove up to the villa with my three daughters and we were all completely awestruck. The villa and the view was something out of a storybook. The brick home brought a feeling of old culture yet the updated appliances allowed us to feel comfortable. The villa was spotless, the rooms, kitchen, and living room were more than we could ask for. We loved to make our own Italian dinners with the help of Camilla. We would travel to the grocery store and come back to the villa and cook. We would open the large windows and have a beautiful dinner on the verandah watching the sunset over the vineyards. The girls liked to adventure on the land picking fruits and watching the animals. My husband and I relaxed poolside hoping we could prolong our stay. It was a great location in that it was quiet and absolutely breathtaking. When we wished to go into the city and do classic tourist things we just drove there (so you should rent a car) but it was always nice to come back to the villa. My family and I always think about the beautiful villa, the views and the large pool that overlooks the vineyards and would love to return again soon!
IF WE COME BACK TO TUSCANY, WE WILL STAY HERE AGAIN - NV's review
@ Il Glicine
If you are looking or somewhere to stay close to Siena, this should be the one you choose. It is in a beautiful, quiet location. The apartments are lovely, and the grounds are well taken care of. The owner and his wife are delightful. My Husband and I never wanted to leave! All of the main towns are within day trip distance, and very easy to drive to. If we come back to Tuscany, we will stay here again, and I would advise anyone else to do the same!
A PERFECT RESPITE TO RETURN TO AFTER FOR OUR BUSY TRAVEL DAYS! - ROSE's review
@ Le Rose
GREAT LOCATION for centrality to various wine regions. Easy access to Siena (at only about 10k /10 minutes away), easy and personable innkeepers Massimo and Claudia were great communicators, and easy living in the quiet, restful hamlet of Poggio. Stayed in apartment "Le Rose", which was perfect for two couples with well-equipped kitchen, fireplace in living room and nice bath - A large, comfortable space. We went in the Autumn, so not able to have meals outdoors, but the patio and pool would have been wonderful to use had the weather been warmer. Set in a peaceful orchard surrounded by farmlands - a perfect respite to return to after for our busy travel days!
THAT'S WHY WE WERE SAD TO LEAVE AFTER 8 DAYS... - INGRID's review
@ Il Girasole
Traveling to Poggio, we did not know what to expect. After we arrived - and after a warm and friendly welcome by Massimo - we went to our appertment, Il Girasole. This appartment was during a week our place tot live and to enjoy the real Italian live and spirit.
The location of Pggio is realy exiting! Almost 'at the end of the world' in an small village of about 10 houses. Quiet and nice, between de hills and fruit trees and vinyards.
Also this location is top of the bill if you want to explore Toscany: all the famous and less famous towns and villages are within a short drive.
Massimo, the owner and host, his wife Claudia and last but not least Giotto, the dog (his only job is to welcome and entertain the guests) are very kind and friendly and they do everyrthing to let you feel good and to heve a nice time there.
That's why we were sad to leave after 8 days...
To everyone who wants to travel to Toscany we want to say: go to Poggio and you won't regret it!!
AMAZING DOWN TO EARTH PEOPLE WITH A QUIET SPOT TO RECHARGE. - VV's review
@ Le Rose
Amazing down to earth people with a quiet spot to recharge. Less than 10k drive to Siena; easy access to Florence, Chianti region, Montalcino, etc.
If your travel style is with camera and Rick Steve's in hand, these well-furnished villa apartments in the countryside may not be your preference. But, if you want to really live la dolce vita and enjoy waking to birds singing or toasting a Tuscan sunset, you will love this place.
Check directions ahead when you travel because the usual highway exit is closed for reconstruction (requires slight but scenic reroute as of June, 2011).
There are only three main villa apartments so you never feel crowded. Other guests are from all over Europe and North America. We meet really great people every year. (part of the whole experience; even poking fun at the Californians having trouble with the whole "relax" concept!).
This was my fourth year at Poggio, spending full two-weeks of vacation here as "base" and venturing out to explore Tuscany on day trips or just going for walks and reading by the pool. Traveling with friends and family, we save a LOT by cooking our own meals at the apartment plus having the freedom to eat whenever we feel hungry. And, dining "in" means no worry about driving after a few glasses...
Yeah, this is a raving review but the experience at Poggio is real and so is the recommendation.
MOST BEAUTIFUL HOUSE I'VE EVER SEEN - ANA's review
l salcio is the most beautiful house I´ ve ever seen. It´ s settled in the countryside, with open views all around. Only looking out of your window is like seeing a picture. We have stayed in Pienza´ s apartment, the smallest one. Eventhough, all the space upstairs was unuseful for us, as it´ s so big for 2. Even 4 people could stay comfortably in it. We have choosen it because of its 3 panoramic windows to the countryside and didn´t dissapoint us! It has a big bathroom, with 2 showers and the WC separated from the rest, very modern. The bed is BIG,fantastic! The only down thing for me is the lack of shutters,as I need absolute darkness to sleep in the morning.Eventhough there are courtains, they don´t stop all the sunlight, but it works well for those who have the capacity to sleep with a little amount of light (fortunate them)! The kitchen has ALL the appliances you could need, more than in my own house. All is brand new but, as in the whole house, there is a perfect mix between the modern and the classic elements. The design Laura has made is incredible perfect, as in a house from a design magazine. From the ”cotto” floor to the wooden ceiling, from the lighting to the modern and pure colours furniture, all matchs perfectly with the surroundings. All the apartments are in the first floor of the building and there is a lift too! The outside places have been my favourites: the ”porch”with a part inside the house but glazed from floor to ceiling, and the pergola place, with some tables, lounges and chairs to dine, breakfast or rest. And what to tell about the sunsets from the verandah! Apart from the house, the hosts are incredible friendly and accesible. It´ s a bit difficult to find Il Salcio for the first time by night, and Amedeo came to ”rescue” us with his car when we got lost. Laura takes care of everything for your wellbeing: lits every night candles in the stairs for you, and every space is parfumed with parfum sticks, takes care that there is enough coffee for the Nespresso machine for the guests in the hall, and provides you all the information you need to explore the Val D´ Orcia region, the region we´ve loved the most of all Tuscany. Thanks a lot of this fantastic place
We stayed at the villa for a week in September 2011. On the day we arrived we were late and hadn't had any dinner so Marcella immediately made us feel very welcome by cooking us a lovely pasta dinner.
The villa, the location and the pool were all first class but the best thing about the stay was how wonderful the Faneschi's were as hosts.
I would recommend the villa to anyone and would have no hesitation in returning

THE MOST MARVELLOUS HOLIDAY IN TUSCANY - JOHN 's review
@ La Quercia
John planned the most marvellous holiday in Tuscany, Italy, for the summer. We had the most marvellous time with Gioya and Marcello and his wife, they were lovely hosts.
We had a very joyful afternoon tea and BBQ with them where the fact that we spoke hardly and Italian and Marcello hardly any English made no difference at all. We were in a lonely farmhouse down a dirt and pitted track, deep in the Massa Maritima forests, with a glorious infinity pool that overlooked wooded valleys, volcanoes and surprisingly the chimneys of the Italian volcano-thermo electricity generations systems. The cooling towers were a bit like an elegant Didcot in the woods! But Italy, to her credit, has no nuclear power and 30% is generated using the earth’s heat and with photovoltaic (solar power) an easy option most houses are independent with ultra local cheap supplies. We visited Pisa and never realised how much more there was to the complex around the Torre Pendente (Leaning Tower). We all exhausted ourselves climbing up it - the lean has the odd effect of making you feel you are going down as you go up and then when you climb, in parts, it’s like the north face of the Eiger! Florence was lovely, Siena not our favourite, but the Roman and Etruscan towns of Volterra, Massa Maritima, Montereggione and San Gimignano were wonderful. Each had its own theme be it paper, olives, tomatoes, alabaster, flag tossing, wine (delicious Montepulciano at €1.30 a bottle) or coloured leather handbags. No two shops sold the same thing, there were slight variations that made you visit each shop before purchasing! We have never been to the area before but the children knew it from the computer game Assassins Creed, which was remarkably accurate. They knew where all the sights and sites were before we got there and directed us! The driving was hard work – something would look 2km as the crow flies and SatNag would say 16km to go. SatNag was right – all twisty roads and not a roman straight line in sight. You got good shoulders and neck muscles from driving round! Wales without the rain John called it.
Now we are back home (3 Weeks) I must let you know that we had the most beautiful stay in the Villa in Sienna and we have spoken greatly to our friends and family on the lovely place we stayed and the great meal Francesca and her family provided for us on the night we arrived. The Family were very welcoming and if we ever get the chance to come back we will definitely stay there. It was so relaxing and friendly.
We arrived home last evening from our fabulous trip to Italy. I wanted you to know how much we appreciate all that you have done to answer our questions and make our stay at the beautiful Borgo La Chiusa so enjoyable. We just loved Tuscany!! Francesca was very helpful and has done a wonderful job in making the villa so warm and inviting.
Unfortunately, we left on Saturday morning and realized that we had forgotten to sign the guest book (which we talked about doing several times during the week). Please let Francesca and Rossolino know how much we loved their villa and the Tuscan hillsides. Our week in Tuscany was beyond our expectations and we would recommend La Chiusa to anyone looking to visit your beautiful country!!
Thank you once again for all that you did to make our holiday so special. We hope we are able to return again!!
Sandy & Paul
we're back home and (of course) sadly back to work. :-)
Everything worked fine down in Italy.
I (and we) would really like to say THANK YOU. You did a great job for us beforehand. We all enjoyed our holidays staying at this beautiful house (exept this really bad road out there) ;-)
And we had them all: wild boars, viper snakes, scorpions, porcupines.
But nothing happened ;-)
Best wishes to you.
We would Laurence, Nathan, Martine, Alex and me to thank you for the nice moments we spend in Borgo la Chiusa !!!
We were a little bit stress before the arrival for Nathan (our first baby) but Francesca was able to disappear this feeling in us ! We spend very good moments in Borgo, this is a marvelous house so keep it like that as long as you can !
Thank's for everythings and all the people who took care of stewardship.
Bye and we keep with us your mail and mobile phone if we have to join you for a futur rent !
If you do not mind driving a few km on a turning and twisting, but well maintained, mountain road to get to Radicondoli, this agriturismo is enough off the beaten tourist track to provide a little Eden of peace, beauty and history in the middle of Tuscany. Our children loved playing with the cats and dogs and herding the sheep with Pietro every day. He and Magdalena are generous and wonderful hosts and their agriturismo is exactly as it is described: a modern and comfortable house located on a real farm with panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside and within an hour's drive of Firenze and Sienna and everything in between. Their warm presence and the attention they have for their guests made our stay at their farm the highlight of our Tuscan vacation.
THANKS FOR A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY - PAUL AND SARAH 's review
@ Santa Lucia
I thought I'd drop you a note to say how much we enjoyed our holiday, and what a fantatsic time we had.
Mr and Mrs Faneschi were wonderful people who made us feel so at home, and were able to give recommendations on where to go and what to see.
The apartment Padronale was really comfortable and felt like a home from home. I'd say the photo's on your website don't give justice to the views and location of the apartment.
Please pass on our sincere thanks to Mr and Mrs Fanaschi. Our daughters have adopted them as surrogate grandparents and will cherish their memories of their time in Tuscany!!
LIVE THE REAL SICILIAN WAY OF LIFE - JOSEPHINE's review
@ La Macina
we want to say thank you for a wonderful holiday at the lovely "La Macina" in Aliminusa!
We enjoyed the time so so much… it`s such a great place for relaxing and live the real Sicilian way of life far away from the hole tourism. That was exactly what we looked for.
Salvatore and Pina cared for us so nice, also Don and Francesca… we`re very thankfull for that and very glad we met.
Please tell all of them many heartly greetings and all the best!
We`re missing Sicilia, we`re missing Aliminusa J
Our stay at Il Doglio was magical. From the gorgeously maintained house, pool house and guest house, to the well-equipped kitchen, everything was there for a week of relaxing, dining and being together. We loved the antiques and the incredible library. At the end of a long hot day of touring, it was a real relief to see the cypress trees of Il Doglio at the end of the road! Thanks for everything!
We loved our stay at Borgo La Chiusa. The location was terrific for day trips. The accommodations were better than advertised. The bedrooms, baths and living areas were great and a welcome site after a long day in Sienna or a drive throughout the countryside. Our family or 4, including 2 teenage daughters, loved our time here and hope to return one day.
My sister in law and I loved our stay in La Porcilaia at Borgo Chuisa! The apt. is large, beautifully and currently decorated, and so clean. The beds were delightfully comfortable and the baths had roomy tiled showers and plenty of hot water - unlike most of the pricier Italian hotels. Having a kitchen was wondeful! We bought local pastries, wine, cheese, produce, bread, lavazza coffee, and enjoyed all these at our leisure. The area scenery is breathtaking, the local restaurants were very good and also inexpensive, so tour aound if you have a car. If you desire a truly lovely Italian experience, I highly recommend that you stay at Borgo Chuisa!
We can only give positive feedback about our stay in Borgo La Chiusa:
great location, quiete, beatiful scenery, and close to Sienna.
The house is nicely decorated, very very very clean, comfortable, it is even nicer than what you see on the pictures. When we return to Tuscany, we will definitely go back to this place.
Three friends and I rented the villa for 11 awesome days. Francesca and her family were wonderful. The place was immaculate and safe, close to all the little towns in Tuscany, and we traveled daily to places like Florence, Montepulciano, Siena and many others. There is everything one needs either on the property or a short way off. I can't wait to go back, and highly recommend Borgo la Chiusa. There are vineyards nearby and artichokes growing in neighboring yards. The fields of red poppies are a sight to behold.Italia is Bellisima....go!!!
This villa overlooking a spectacular Tuscan rolling hill vista was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Beautiful patios and courtyards; spacious, well-appointed and spotlessly clean rooms and owners who went out of their way to be hospitable. We had the larger of the two 'apartments' in the villa - 2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 down. The pool and the grounds were picture-perfect. Good bus service for trips into Sienna (about 15 minute direct bus ride) and to neighbouring towns (Rosia is the closest with a full grocery store but there is a super butcher in Volta Alta which is walkable from the villa). A rental car is best here but not entirely necessary.
We stayed at Borgo La Chiusa in May, 2010. This is actually when they were installing the new Travertine pool. We never were able to use it, but it sure looked stunning when they were finished!
There were (9) of us that rented both apartments. The location truly can't be beat. We had a large van and took several day trips to Florence, Siena, and various other hamlets in the region. Very close to highway access. A very nice, modern Coop grocery store was a frequent haunt for our group (located in Sovicille). We made several meals in the kitchen of the larger unit and had great group dinners on the large table there, with roaring fires in the fireplace (firewood is extra, but worth it!).
The interior of both units was incredible. Very modern bathrooms, comfortable beds, quality linens made this a wonderful package. The stone patio outside the largest unit is HUGE and had a wonderful fireplace-grill that we used to grill fresh Tuscan vegetables on.
Owners had limited English skills which made the transaction of paying the balance a bit difficult, but they were a charming young couple with obvious very-good taste!
After three years still thinking about it as one of our most memorable stay...
It as everything for the tuscany lover. Loved the kitchen with the cosy atmosmphere, loved the full windowed lounge for all the meals, loved the rooms and , of course, love the outside pizza oven! If you realy want to taste Tuscany, villa Pietraio is the place.
Only negative point, You have to expect a little drive in the woods...
Thank you , it was magical
YOUR HOME IN UMBRIA - MEREDITH's review
I can highly recommend this beautiful home in Umbria, Italy. I said home, but it is a new building with 3 apartments designed in the traditional style. Each unit is beautifully decorated and has everything you might need, including views and a pool. We were a group of 5 couples and occupied the entire building. Lucia and Sandro were our hosts and did everything they could to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. They made reservations at wineries for tastings, recommended restaurants and places to visit. I hope to return someday.
Our favorites were enjoing the incredible scenary, the grat weather by the pool, eating good food, drinking good wine and enjoing the hospitality of Lucia and sandro. This was our first visit and we are sure to be back. Ciao!
WONDERFUL HOSPITALITY - JACKELINE AND TOM's review
Everything was perfect! The setting is beautiful, the apartment outstanding. Lucia and Alessandro are the most generous and caring of people and they have taken such great care of us. The pool is a dream. We found Sangiovese extrimely elegant and very comfortable, highly recommended!
The beauty of your villa is only exceded by your hospitality. The time at the villa, pool, exquisite view has been La Dolce Vita, ciao!
This place is amazing! The people here are wonderfully kind and the views is fantastic. I cannot wait to come back for another wonderful adventure. Ciao
It’s all just starting to “sink in”…how momentous and wonderful the trip to Italy was. It’s now clear that it’s not only about the place, but really about the people. Thank you for all your amazing hospitality, help and friendship.
posto devvero bellissimo, casa calda e accogliente, grande disponibilità dei padroni di casa, valutazione ottima!
The house is fully equipped.
I loved my 2-weeks stay at Borgo La Chiusa this summer, I just have not been able to find a fault.
