Olivella is a large, very simply renovated farmhouse found on Lake Corbara in Umbria. The floors are mostly ancient terracotta tiles, the walls are whitewashed plaster and the ceilings have huge painted beams with whitewashed tiles in between.
It is the perfect place for summer - so long as you enjoy the simple life. There is only 1 bathroom with a shower, basin and loo. Outside, under a tree, there is a cold water hose which runs through a colander to provide an outdoor shower. Swimming is in the lake - a short walk down to the end of the peninsula.
There are 6 bedrooms upstairs and 2 bedrooms downstairs with either 2 or 3 comfortable beds in each room so the house sleeps 19. There are 3 large tables outside so 19 people can sit together to eat. The kitchen is fully equipped for 19 people although there isn't a dishwasher.
