Apple Tart


Here is the recipe for the cake I have just baked with the crab apples... which normally just feed the wild boar whose dwelling these woods are at night (you can use any apples but it is better if they are juicy - these crab apples were too dry actually)


 

Torta alle Mele

 


Turn on the oven on 180°C

150 gr softened butter

100 gr brown sugar

4-5 medium size apples

200 gr brown flour

20 gr potato starch (not necessary of you do not have it – it only makes the cake lighter)

4 whole eggs well whisked

3 spoons rhum

1 sachet raising agent

Zest of 1 lemon

Beat the butter well with the sugar, it has to become creamy

Add in the eggs, after whisking them well, then add the flour, the raising agent and all the rest (keep the apples for later)

Beat well until homogeneous. Then add in the apples. Bake in the over, preheated at 180°C for 20-30 minutes, or until browned. Do not overcook as it may dry up.
